We offer forest school sessions within one of our own gardens. After our own research project we felt that we could teach children forest school skills, within our own grounds.
Each age group have two forest school sessions per week. We aim to make sure that the majority of children have at least one session per week. The children use their imaginations and build dens, they will often tell elaborate stories as part of their experiences. They explore the garden together and they grow in confidence and self-esteem.
We find that Forest School gives children a deep connection with the natural environment, the elements and the rhythm of the seasons. They also learn how to handle risks and how to use their own initiative to solve problems, co-operating with their friends. Often the children will bring ideas or projects back to the nursery to be carried on indoors.
Children will need to have appropriate clothing in nursery for their forest school sessions, this should include welly boots, waterproof clothing and warm clothing for the winter.

All children have access to our edible garden and forest school garden.
